With new directors and a fresh location downtown, this year’s annual YogaFest, in Oklahoma City, has much to offer! YogaFest OKC is a two-day celebration featuring yoga and meditation classes, an outdoor market, presentations, a panel discussion, kids’ classes, food trucks and more. The festival takes place September 15 and 16 at Bicentennial Park, the Civic Center and the 21c Museum Hotel (Sunday only).
With more than 30 classes and activities scheduled indoors and outside, the weekend includes a diverse range of classes taught by local studio owners and teachers, and headlining classes and discussions led by nationally recognized teachers. Gina Caputo (aka Yogini on the Loose), of Boulder, Colorado, is teaching both Saturday and Sunday and sitting on a panel for a discussion about mindfulness, and Harvard Medical School Neuroscientist and Ted Talk Presenter Sara Lazar is leading a discussion about the benefits of yoga and meditation on the brain Saturday morning.
Between classes and lectures, attendees can shop locally with outdoor vendors, grab a bite and a brew with local food trucks, and head to the Zen Den on the lawn to chill. Kids’ classes are scheduled on the lawn at Bicentennial Park both Saturday and Sunday.
Cost: Day passes are $75, and weekend passes are $150; children 12 and under attend for free. Location: Bicentennial Park is located at 500 Couch Dr., in OKC. To purchase tickets and for more information, visit YogaFestOKC.com.
