This winter, the American Women’s Cannabis Society (AWCS) is collaborating with Pine Pantry’s “have one, leave one, need one, take one” food and coat drive. Many groups and events, including CBD Unlimited’s Cannafest and Ounce Magazine’s Winter Party 2018 have collected donations for this cause. With so many retailers reaching out, not only to AWCS but also to homeless shelters and rehab facilities, volunteers are needed for the distribution of donation overflow, as well as adding drop-off and pick-up locations.
In their first six months as a group, the women of AWCS were able to raise more than $20,000 for individual medical bills and the 788 Defense legal fund, thanks to their reputable sponsors and the support of the cannabis community.
“Our goal is to give people a comfortable place to network and learn while having fun raising money for those in need,” says Jordan Early, founder of AWCS. “It’s the best of both worlds for me: charitable giving and priceless introductions.”
