Buddha Mind Monastery, in Oklahoma City, will host a Buddha Bathing and Medicine Buddha Ceremony beginning at 10 a.m., May 20, marking the beginning of the Medicine Sutra Service, which will occur every Sunday for the next three months.
In addition, to celebrate Buddha’s 3,045th birthday, a Buddha Bathing Ceremony will take place at 11:45 a.m. This ritual includes a fountain with a statue of Baby Buddha and flower arrangements. Participants will bathe the statue with fragrant water while chanting praises to symbolize the vow of purifying the mind.
A vegetarian buffet will follow the free ceremony.
