CBD Plus USA, an Oklahoma-based franchise that sells high-quality cannabidiol (CBD) oil products extracted from hemp, is the brainchild of Ryan Vicedomini, who founded the business in 2017. When Vicedomini’s friend P.J. James, an entrepreneur, heard about the venture and saw an opportunity to help people through CBD products, he wanted in.
James owns the CBD Plus USA locations in Tulsa, Chickasha and Shawnee, as well as locations on S. I-35, in Moore; W. Robinson Street, N. Flood Avenue, and Lindsey Street, in Norman; and on 122nd Street and MacArthur Boulevard, in Oklahoma City. He says they strive to provide a clean, comfortable environment where knowledgeable staff can guide customers seeking CBD products to find relief from common ailments.
“CBD is the most abundant molecule in cannabis, and it can be found in two cannabis plants—hemp and marijuana,” James explains. “All of our products comes from hemp and has less than the federal legal amount of tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the hallucinogenic property of the cannabis plant, in it. Per Oklahoma state law, we have zero traces of TCH in our products.”
CBD oil has been getting much attention lately for its wellness properties. “It’s all natural and can have a relaxing effect. It helps with stress and anxiety, and it helps achieve restful sleep, since it quiets that yammering voice in the brain and allows you to focus,” James says.
CBD oil has also been known to help with arthritis pain, strengthen bones, and relieve anxiety and inflammation. “When cells get inflamed, they essentially get gunked up from all the free radicals in the body. It’s like a train motor—once it gets hot and sticky, it won’t operate efficiently. CBD oil acts as an antioxidant that absorbs free radicals to clean up the cells and help them heal,” explains Jake Chilcoat, corporate media representative for CBD Plus USA. “The inflammation naturally decreases and helps the body do what it needs to do naturally, which can help every disease known to man because disease is caused by inflammation.”
As CBD oil becomes better known for its wellness properties, products now abound throughout the marketplace; however, not all are alike. Chilcoat notes that CBD Plus USA’s products, sold under the label of Colorado Cures, starts with raw product from Colorado that is obtained from single source hemp grown on the same 10 acres every time. “We can trace all of our products from seed to bottle,” he says. “We use quality carriers and terpenes, yet still offer our CBD products at affordable prices.” Customers can expect a consistent product, and CBD Plus USA has a 100 percent satisfaction guarantee.
CBD Plus USA carries CBD isolate products, as well as full-spectrum products. They have full-spectrum tinctures, crumble and vape cartridges; and they offer all products in isolate forms, such as lotions, salves, vape additives and tinctures. There is also a salve for spot treatment of eczema and psoriasis. “I can’t call CBD a cure-all, but I can easily call it a help-all,” James enthuses. “My family uses it, and it’s effective for everybody, as long as you give it 30 days to wake up the cannabinoid receptors in the body.”
Although civilizations have been cultivating the cannabis plant for ages, it’s been demonized by stigma and stereotypes; thus, education is key. “One hundred percent of our product is from the hemp plant, which is designed and bred to be very high in CBD and low in THC to begin with,” James explains. “When we extract the oils from the hemp plant, the THC is near zero.”
Chilcoat adds that CBD oil derived from hemp is legal in 49 of the 50 states, but there’s still confusion among many state and federal legislators when it comes to differentiating hemp from marijuana. But he and James are optimistic that as the wellness benefits of CBD products become more widely known, and as people seek alternatives to pharmaceutical painkillers, CBD Plus USA can expand nationwide and set the bar for what getting relief from cannabis will look like.
“We can’t change the laws, but we can adapt,” says James. “Our goal always is to make a person leave feeling better than when they came in.”
