Food Is Energy

In his book Health Building: The Conscious Art of Living Well, author Randolph Stone states, “Energy flows through matter and animates it.” We eat for energy. We are responsible for maintaining our physical bodies, which are made from the Earth—food is a daily gift from Earth’s own life force, creating and sustaining our bodies with its minerals, sunlight, fresh air and water. To achieve the best results from food, chiropractic care is important to remove vertebral subluxations, giving the body the strength to allow proper digestion and assimilation of food and the strength to detoxify.

A loss of the integrity of the life force within the body results in the state of vertebral subluxation. The basic premise of chiropractic philosophy is: “The power that makes the body, heals the body.” There is a life force constantly at work in all living things, thus keeping them organized and adapting to occurrences in the environment. This force is a vibration, which keeps all life going forward and holds every cell and particle together. The ordinary person is not usually aware of this vibrational frequency, nor is he or she always mindful that this force maintains his or her life as well as the Earth itself.

The human body is miraculous. This principle of organization produces a self-developing, self-healing, self-organizing and self-regulating organism that is adapting and appropriately responding to its environment, constantly striving for optimal function. This is known as innate intelligence in chiropractic but has many names, including force, spirit, Holy Spirit, prana and qi.

The energy in food is determined by how the food grows in or on the Earth. When eaten, it seeks its own level that resonates within each individual body. This is why we often crave what we grew up eating.

Back to Basics
The reason whole fresh foods should be eaten in season is that they maintain the most life force.
Think of taking a bite from an apple, and less than one month later, it is brown and shriveled. The life force is gone. This is the life-giving energy to which we are referring.

Whole foods cultivated or raised without the use of synthetic chemicals, such as pesticides, drugs or hormones, are the best choices to be consumed for good health. Processed food is any food that has had elements removed or added, and packaged in cans, jars or bags. This is done under the guise of better taste, more appeal or longer shelf life.

The life force or energy of food is altered when it is processed or chemically grown, which causes subluxation within the body. Subluxation causes disease, creating an aberrant nervous system, which manifests as neurological disorganization and disorders. To absorb the most energy from food, as well as maintain weight and keep the digestive system healthy, remember this adage: “Eat like a king for breakfast, like a prince for lunch and a pauper for dinner.”
