Holistic Greens CBD and Distribution Providing Cannabidiol Education and Connection

by Gisele M. Siebold

A positive experience with a cannabidiol (CBD) topical following her third shoulder surgery inspired Amanda Bertone to launch Holistic Greens CBD and Distribution, in Oklahoma, in order to partner with Can-Tek Labs and Quantum Dynamics LLC as a way to assist others in supporting their wellness journeys through the benefits of hemp-derived CBD. Can-Tek Labs is a manufacturing facility, located in Oklahoma City, that produces hemp-infused nutraceuticals and dietary supplements registered through the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. Quantum Dynamics produces Quantum CBD H2O, the first and only approved cannabis-infused water beverage in California.

Bertone only distributes products produced by Can-Tek Labs. “The non-genetically modified (non-GMO) hemp is grown organically, and the process is seed to sale. The hemp is infused into cannabidiol products for medicinal purposes,” says Bertone. “I trust the lab and the products.”

Providing education is key, according to Bertone, in order to remove the stigma that may still be associated with hemp and the cannabis plant. She provides seminars and presentations about cannabis, CBD oil and full-plant medicine to further the knowledge base of people in the community and throughout the country.

“I present educational seminars at least two to three times per month,” notes Bertone. “For example, I recently spoke at the annual conference for the Association of Oklahoma Nurse Practitioners. I am dedicated to providing educational opportunities that let people know CBD doesn’t produce a ‘high’ because it does not have a psychoactive component.”

Learning about the benefits of CBD-infused products helps consumers make informed choices about their health, and Bertone is dedicated to helping others. The broad-spectrum CBD oil that she distributes nationwide is 100 percent free from THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), the psychoactive component of the cannabis plant.

As a competitive athlete for much of her life, Bertone has firsthand experience using the CBD-infused products she distributes. “I grew up playing competitive tennis. After my first shoulder surgery in 2013, I could no longer play tennis and needed another outlet. Since I was a kinesiology major at the University of Central Oklahoma, I decided to try competitive bodybuilding. I hired a trainer and competed 12 weeks later,” explains Bertone, who continued to compete and became a successful, award-winning bodybuilding champion.

However, she had two additional shoulder surgeries in 2015 and 2017. “Following my surgeries, I was approached with Quantum CBD H2O and a topical from Can-Tek Labs. Initially, I said no. There was no way I could touch anything with cannabis in it because the stigma associated with it was preached to me throughout my life,” says Bertone. “But I researched, read and then tried CBD oil. I was able to recover from my third surgery with the help of CBD, instead of taking opiate pain medication. Because of this experience, I slowly started opening up wholesale accounts by selling the products I used. Quantum CBD is one of my favorite post-workout recovery drinks with the perfect pH because it helps get hydration back into my muscles.”

Additional products Bertone distributes include CBD-infused tinctures, lotions, topicals, edibles, vape products and a product line for pets. All products are tested internally at Can-Tek Labs, as well as independently by third-party testing facilities in order to maintain and confirm consistency and accuracy.

Bertone is one of three founding members of the American Women’s Cannabis Society (AWCS), along with Jordan Early and Jessi Johnson. AWCS is a national organization that produces monthly newsletters, and also education and networking events for the cannabis industry.

“Contributing to the quality of life that people experience brings me joy,” shares Bertone.
