Sara Alavi: Yoga for Healing and Recovery

Iyengar Yoga Teacher Sara Alavi opened her studio, Yoga Home of Therapeutics, in 2009. Dedicated to growing in her knowledge of the healing arts for all populations, Alavi teaches yoga classes throughout the Oklahoma City community.

She has been teaching a class at the Veterans Administration Hospital on Wednesdays for four years. This class is an all-level chair yoga class for both veterans and their support care animals. In addition, Alavi teaches classes at Oakwood Springs Hospital four days a week, along with two days of teaching veterans through a Heroes class—one day with the inpatient population and another working in the psychiatric section of the hospital. In addition to her community outreach offerings, Alavi continues to teach a few classes at Yoga Home of Therapeutics, as well as seeing private clients and facilitating yoga teacher training.

Alavi’s compassion for people and her concern for their overall health and welfare is visceral when she works with clients. An active listener who infers things about clients that are not expressed verbally, Alavi offers customized programs to help improve overall health and wellness. Her services include therapeutic yoga, meditation, hypnotherapy, quantum tapping, quantum healing hypnosis therapy, aromatherapy massage, as well as many other pain-relief therapy techniques. Alavi helps clients modify any poses that cause pain and empowers all that work with her.
